About this Event
The James Beard Award-winning literary food magazine Cake Zine curates an original reading series from a set of notable New York City writers about the past, present, and future of the city’s ever-changing food scene. The readings will be followed by a one-of-a-kind open writing group, guided by Cake Zine’s all-star authors.

Host
Aliza Abarbanel a freelance writer and editor based in Brooklyn. She is the co-founder and co-editor of Cake Zine, a contributing editor at TASTE, and a co-host of the podcast This is TASTE. Formerly an editor at Bon Appetit, her writing has appeared in New York Magazine, GQ, Food & Wine, the Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times.

On September 4, Vietnamese-American chef Phoebe Tran creates an exclusive menu inspired by family recipes; on September 5, Mr. Jong offers a park-inspired take on a freshly grilled family style meal.
