PERKS & BENEFITS

Supporting our people, in work and beyond

At Little Island, we value our people because they are at the center of our work. By caring for and developing our team, we help them do their best work.

We support employees

We support employees by offering generous paid time off, including vacation, personal and sick days, bereavement leave, floating holidays, and Little Island-observed holidays.

Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage is available with Little Island covering most of the premiums for employees and their dependents, helping to ensure that staff and their families are cared for.

At Little Island, we create spaces for people to come together and form connections through regular staff meetings, our internal newsletter, employee-led groups like the softball team and book club, and an annual staff gathering to celebrate our team . These shared moments, along with other meaningful touchpoints that emerge throughout the year, help foster belonging, collaboration, and a strong sense of community beyond our day-to-day work.

WORK AT LITTLE ISLAND

Little Island is a singular public park where art, nature, and people come together. Our team works across disciplines to care for an extraordinary landscape and create unforgettable experiences on the Hudson River.

We’re guided by hospitality, excellence, collaboration, and trust. Every role matters, and we believe great work happens when people support one another, solve problems creatively, and show up with care for our visitors, our artists, and each other.

If you’re excited by meaningful civic work, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to help create something truly special, we’d love to hear from you.

EARLY CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to current job openings, Little Island supports early career pathways. Our Workforce Development Program offers paid jobs, mentorship, and hands-on training for college students and recent graduates interested in working in the arts, operations and hospitality.

Many alumni return to seasonal or year-round roles, while others now work or study across New York City’s cultural and public space sectors. To learn more or apply, please email community@littleisland.org
