Nita Aviance
DJ
Nita, a noted member of the legendary House of Aviance, started DJing around the turn of the millennium and was a resident at the infamous Mr. Black and Westgay, both touchstones for queer artistry and culture in downtown nightlife of the early 2000s.
Currently, Nita performs globally as both a solo artist and in partnership with Will Automagic as The Carry Nation, recognized for epic extended B2B sets and wildly successful parties, including They Went On Forever. The Carry Nation also holds a residency at Ladyfag’s flagship monthly Battle Hymn and, as producers, their credits include releases and remixes on Get Up Recordings, Classic Music Company, TRIBAL, Nervous, TRAX, Batty Bass, TWIRL, W&O Street Tracks, and more.
Nita and Will are the founders of Major Records, an imprint they run with Justin Cudmore and Mike Servito, and recently released the third volume of their Full Tilt Carry compilation on Nervous Records.
