Little Island was created with the belief that public space should be for everyone.
Through on-site programming and local partnerships, we engage, educate and employ New Yorkers while creating experiences rooted in art, nature and community. We collaborate with neighborhood schools, city agencies, and cultural organizations to expand access to performances, provide meaningful job opportunities for young people, and offer space to connect with nature in the heart of the city.

ART
Everyone deserves access to live art. Little Island’s YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAM expands access to artistic resources, meaningful opportunities, and creative community—offering emerging artists brave spaces to explore their voice and build lasting connections.
NATURE
Whether you’re here for a moment or a whole afternoon, Little Island offers space to pause, breathe, and reconnect — a break from the pace of the city.

COMMUNITY
Through our Community Ticketing Program, more than 44,000 free tickets have been distributed for Little Island performances, since the park’s opening.
We also support early career pathways through our Workforce Development initiatives, which offer paid roles, mentorship and training to college students and recent grads. Many participants return to work at the park or stay involved through our growing alumni network.
