If dancing in public is not your style, then pick up a drum and make your own beats with our percussive teaching artist Martin Urbach. Movers and shakers of all abilities are welcome!

Young people are invited to join us

Join us in the park for a morning Storytime with our Creative Break partner The Center for Fiction. After the story, sing-a-long to music inspired by the themes featured in that day’s book with our Little Island Community Partner Greenwich House Music School. Readers and singers of all levels are welcome! 

Most of the songs I'll be playing at Little Island were recorded in my 2020 album ‘Unterwegs'. Unterwegs is a German word that means On the road and the album is the direct result of a journey I started years ago, that took me through different landscapes, from the mountains to the sea, and in which I learned many things. This selection of songs portraits the pain but, foremost, the joy of living. “It’s all about breathing life into music... lovely, intimate songs from Argentina, Brazil, and Cuba that Julián honors by singing in their original language, be it Spanish, Portuguese or English.

Join Zac and his band to celebrate the release of Zac's new EP, "The Way Things Used To Be.” You’ll be treated to an evening of original music combining elements of jazz, funk, classical, Japanese traditional and Chinese traditional music. What makes this land your land? 

After recently unearthing old journals and artifacts in her childhood home, vocalist and actor Kuhoo Verma created heart land in an effort to search for an answer to this question. Weaving together songs from such genres as folk, country, and Americana together with recitations of writings throughout her life, Verma uses her unparalleled gift of storytelling and her captivating voice to grapple with issues of identity and otherness, and through the journey, discover what it truly means for a place to feel like home.
