Horticulture Supervisor

The Horticulture Supervisor at Little Island will assist with leading a team of seasonal Gardeners in overseeing the effective implementation of Little Island’s Landscape Management and Succession Program. Spanning 2.4 acres, the landscape includes 350 varieties of trees, shrubs, vines, grasses, perennials, 66,000 bulbs, and 14,000 sq. ft. of lawn. The Horticulture Supervisor ensures the daily Horticulture workflow is well integrated into the Operations Department and assists with the hiring and ongoing development of the Horticulture team. This role is a field-based position reporting to the Head of Horticulture. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Horticulturist with a passion for urban perennial maintenance and public horticulture. They possess excellent plant and pest identification skills, are fluent in botanical Latin, and have a keen eye for detail and planting composition. The candidate should have a proven ability to supervise and motivate a seasonal Horticulture team.

Assistant Production Manager

We seek three (3) Assistant Production Managers to work alongside the Production Manager, Associate Production Manager, and the Artistic Programming Department in support of the planning and execution of Little Island’s artistic season. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with excellent project management skills. Candidates with experience supporting a wide variety of artistic disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply. This position reports to the Production Manager.   Artistic Programming  Little Island’s artistic programming is dedicated to creating new work in dance, theater, music, and opera. Wardrobe Department Crew

We are seeking crew members with expertise in wardrobe, stitching, and/or hair & makeup to join the Artistic Programming Department. In this role, you will be responsible for handling, altering, and maintaining the costume elements for a variety of multi-disciplinary events and performances. A successful wardrobe crew member will be a versatile team player with a passion for supporting artistic needs, strong problem-solving skills, and experience working in performance settings. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, prioritize safety, and embrace a spirit of hospitality in their work. Assistant Producer

Little Island is seeking an Assistant Producer to join the Artistic Programming team. Little Island is home to two distinct outdoor performance spaces where we produce, develop, and present original artistic programming. The Assistant Producer will provide essential administrative and logistical support for our programming season, which runs from June through September, as well as for development and rehearsals that take place year-round. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong project management skills and the ability to anticipate needs effectively. They should be adept at determining when to address issues independently and when to seek further guidance. Little Island is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications to lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies. This role will position Little Island as a premier destination for the performing arts, a leader in public and community spaces, renowned for world-class design, and a key advocate for workforce development and community programs in New York City. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of press and marketing for the park and its programming, including branding, public relations and overseeing ticket sales. Custodian

Little Island’s Custodians are key members of the Park Operations department, a dynamic team of collaborative and motivated individuals who collectively care for the park and its visitors. In addition to a beautiful park, Little Island’s facility includes performance spaces, public and indoor restrooms, indoor meeting rooms, staff and artist areas, food stalls, and equipment.
