She Is The Music is a nonprofit organization founded by Alicia Keys, Jody Gerson, Sam Kirby Yoh and Dr. Stacy Smith to increase the number of women working in music – songwriters, engineers, producers, artists and industry professionals – and to develop the next generation of women in music.
SITM is grateful to Little Island for the opportunity to present a free concert showcase for our NYC community of college ambassadors, mentees and mentors, executives, and the general public. Within blocks of where Alicia Keys grew up, SITM and Little Island have come together to bring the people of New York together through live music and accessibility to arts for everyone.
As an umbrella nonprofit, we focus on three key pillars to create impact, our all-female songwriting camps, the largest global database of women in music, and our mentorship programs. We also provide resources and support for women-focused initiatives that are working to create meaningful change – both through our own programs, as well as external efforts around the world.
