Associate Line Producer

Little Island is seeking an Associate Line Producer to join the Artistic Programming Department. Little Island is home to three unique outdoor spaces for live performance. The Associate Line Producer will report to the Creative Producer and work with the Line Producer to provide administrative and operational support for the fast-paced planning and execution of the programming season.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong project management skills. Candidates with experience supporting new work across a wide variety of artistic disciplines including dance, music, theater, and opera, are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the Creative Producer and Line Producer in the producing of projects by participating in:
    • Managing schedules, timelines, and deliverables to help ensure projects are executed on time and within available resources
    • Translating artists’ creative priorities into executable project plans
    • Communicating with artists to arrange and finalize logistical support of rehearsal and performance processes
  • Line Produce assigned reading and development processes
  • Research creative teams and performers, read scripts, and summarize findings for the inclusion in Creative Producer pitch work
  • Execute assigned components of producing plan, reporting back to lead producer on progress, challenges, and proposed solutions
  • Collaborate with company management on artist onboarding coordination
  • Serve as liaison and key artistic representative on site for artists and internal and external stakeholders before, during, and after performances, inclusive of rehearsals and technical rehearsals, as needed in conjunction with other Artistic Programming team members
  • Act as a critical creative partner, interfacing between artists and the Artistic Programming team to establish trust, communication and to ensure live presentations are delivered with a high standard of care and artistic quality
  • Copy edit and approve programs, press releases, and marketing materials on behalf of the producing team in conjunction with Programming Marketing Manager
  • Coordinate creative team meetings, casting sessions, and reading and development work
  • Support Creative Producer and Line Producer in the tracking of stage management and artist contacts and project outreach
  • Collaborate with other Artistic Programming Department team members on the development and maintenance of department processes and procedures
  • Other duties and tasks related to the park and its operations as assigned by the Creative Producer

What You Bring 

  • 2+ years of arts-related administrative experience
  • Experience liaising with artists and industry professionals
  • Working knowledge of the New York performing arts landscape
  • Adaptability and flexibility when responding to changing circumstances associated with live performance (artist needs, inclement weather, etc.)
  • A keen attention to detail as pertains to receiving information from multiple sources, prioritizing tasks, and disseminating data to relevant parties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals both within and outside of the organization to move projects forward in support of institutional and artistic goals
  •  A genuine interest and investment to contribute to our culture of camaraderie and excellence by collaborating and problem-solving cross-departmentally
  • Passion for engaging with visitors and guests, ensuring they feel welcome and have the information they need in service to a memorable visitor experience
  • Comfort sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Comfort working in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions, including light rain, summer heat, and in intermittent direct sunlight
  • Ability to work in U.S.
