Little Island's Artists-in-Residence are a diverse group of creators who will bring our park to life through performance and curation. These New York-based artists participate in a three-year residency: performing and/or directing work, curating events and festivals, engaging with our community partners, and serving as reviewers for our Perform in the Park submissions program. Representing a range of disciplines and perspectives, Little Island's Artists-in-Residence are our artistic collaborators, partnering with us to present eclectic, surprising, and distinctive experiences to inspire and delight visitors of all ages.

"I'm looking forward to being in community again with my city. Music and dance have the power to bring such joy, and to unite across all walks of life. I am grateful for the opportunity to revel in some magic making at Little Island!"

"Little Island’s going to be exploding with ideas, creativity, gatherings, performances—and I can’t wait to revel in all that energy and artistic diversity. The best part is that the space is open and free for all. It’s as if the park has an invisible sign above it, reading “ALL are welcome here!”—and so I imagine folks of all kinds and backgrounds coming together to participate in this beautiful rotating kaleidoscope of art and activity."

"Art holds the power to change communities. Through exploring our unique voices, we learn to value and celebrate our differences, and in the process discover our common humanity. That is the amazing power of art. Little Island provides an opportunity to explore what it means to be an artist in this moment of radical transformation. I look forward to developing new works, supporting a new generation of artists and creating outreach opportunities on Little Island for the New York City community. Being an artist is a gift, and a service. I look forward to the amazing opportunities to create art and community on Little Island."

“Little Island is a place, and a community, that strikes us as singular and stunning. We are so inspired by the unique vision (and landscape!) of the park. We hope to cultivate our own imaginations - as well as the imaginations of artists we love and admire - on the island via concerts, plays, festivals, educational workshops, and one off special events. We are honored and humbled to consider it a home in New York for the next few years.”
