Perform In the Park 2022
Little Island welcomes New York artists to be a part of our 2022 season through Perform in the Park, our open call for artists. We're looking for performers who can channel New York's iconic spontaneity and energy, and bring that spirit to life on Little Island's dynamic stages and spaces, surrounded by nature, water, and city views. We look forward to celebrating and presenting art that is as distinctive as our park and as unique as our city. Join us!
About Perform in the Park
Perform in the Park is Little Island's open submissions program, where we seek local artists to help populate a diverse mix of programs, series, and experiences throughout our season that aim to entertain, surprise and delight, and spark the imaginations of our visitors. We invite performers, artists, buskers, merrymakers, entertainers, troupes, bands, and players of all disciplines to apply who:
- Are age(s) 18+ (or are legally permitted to employ child performers)
- Will be living or working in the Greater New York City area in Summer 2022
- Work in a range of performing arts and entertainment disciplines, with an emphasis on presentations that ignite imagination and engage outdoor audiences
All artists contracted by Little Island will be offered paid opportunities. Other benefits include free tickets to select Little Island programs, as well as special opportunities to connect and network with Little Island’s community of artists.
As a public park open to all, we have a strong commitment to providing accessible experiences for visitors of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. To create an environment that is inclusive and welcoming, the majority of events in the park will be presented for free or at a low cost.

Before Applying: Please review the following prior to filling out your application.
What We’re Looking For:
We are primarily looking for performers and groups for “pop-up performances” throughout the Island. Pop-up performances are just that, performances that happen in various spaces throughout the Island that add to the surprise, delight and whimsy for our visitors and audience members.
Work & Performance Samples:
Please be prepared to share performances samples (video, photo and audio) of the work that you would like to perform in the park. This is necessary for us to consider your application. You may upload 1-2 videos of no more than 2 minutes each for us to review. This will ensure that panelists can give time and attention to all applications. While it is not mandatory that you submit examples in each category, please understand submission of at least one video sample is required for us to consider your application. Photos and audio files can also be submitted. Please note that we will not be able to return work samples. By submitting a sample, you represent that it is original to you (or your group) and if other people are featured, you have the right to submit the sample.
As best as you can, please be prepared to list your expected availability from May 2022 – October 2022.
Accepted applicants will need to provide a W-9 for billing so we can pay you an artist fee.
You must hold the rights to any material you will be performing.
