SIERRA ARMSTRONG · REMY YOUNG
This duet is a nuanced expression of a queer relationship and serves as a loving testament to the unique and varied ways in which two women communicate and connect. The dancers care for and about each other. They give and take and share and love, and they create a world for themselves in which they feel seen, comfortable, proud, communicative, and respected.
Overlook was created in residency at Bridge Street Theater, Catskill, New York as part of #QueertheBallet, an initiative by choreographer Adriana Pierce to broaden the definition and representation of classical ballet to meaningfully include LGBTQ+ narratives and creative voices. Overlook had its digital premiere on February 25, 2021 and was given its ABT Company Premiere on June 24, 2021 in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado.
