Park Operations Manager

The Park Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Little Island’s park and park staff. They oversee a team of park-based employees to ensure the park is well maintained and the visitor experience is positive. This role will uphold Little Island’s standards of excellence in safety, accessibility, and hospitality for all park visitors and employees. They implement these standards while working onsite alongside their team and empower park supervisors to do the same when not onsite. This position is full-time and reports to the Director of Operations. A successful Park Operations Manager has a strong understanding of parks or public spaces, both operationally and experientially, and is excited to contribute to an evolving outdoor environment. They are passionate about people and skilled in supporting a dynamic and diverse field staff comprised of Park Supervisors, Custodians, Park Attendants, and security personnel. Little Island Usher Corps Program

Little Island seeks engaging and energetic individuals to be members of our Usher Corps Program. Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Workforce Development, Ushers play a key role in fostering a hospitable, welcoming, and inclusive environment for visitors and audience members. Ushers perform front-of-house duties for performances and serve as Little Island representatives for the public. In addition to fulfilling their job responsibilities, Ushers will also connect with professionals within the Little Island network and attend weekly professional development seminars, workshops, and neighborhood excursions highlighting New York City’s public art and public spaces. These experiences are centered around: Leadership, Financial Capability, Public Art, Public Space and Communication.   A successful Usher has a passion for interacting with people, an interest in art and community spaces, and is an enthusiastic collaborator who enjoys working outdoors. Custodian

Little Island’s Custodians are key members of the Park Operations department, a dynamic team of collaborative and motivated individuals who collectively care for the park and its visitors. In addition to a beautiful park, Little Island’s facility includes performance spaces, public and indoor restrooms, indoor meeting rooms, staff and artist areas, food stalls, and equipment. Custodians will embody Little Island’s values by collaborating often across departments, jumping in to help solve problems and address immediate park needs, communicating park-related concerns or issues to Park leadership proactively, and fostering memorable visitor experiences and relationships in the park each day. The larger Operations department is also comprised of Park Supervisors, Park Attendants, Security, Maintenance, Horticulture staff, and administrators who work together to operate our park for the public every day. Park Attendant

Little Island’s Park Attendants serve as the primary stewards of the park and its visitors, cultivating a meaningful and memorable experience for all park visitors and maintaining a clean and safe outdoor environment. The Park Attendants are key members of the Park Operations department, a dynamic team of collaborative and motivated individuals who collectively care for the park and its visitors. Attendants will embody Little Island’s values by collaborating often across all departments at Little Island, jumping in to help solve problems and address immediate park needs, communicating park-related concerns or issues to Park leadership proactively, and fostering memorable visitor experiences and relationships in the park each day.  The larger Operations department is also comprised of Park Supervisors, Custodians, Security, Maintenance, Horticulture staff, and administrators who work together to operate our park for the public each day. The ideal Park Attendants are outgoing communicators, accountable and professional team members, and
